Miriam Lee Paterik

Miriam Lee Paterik, nee York, age 88, of Merrillville, IN formerly of South Holland, IL, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 26, 2008. She was born February 23, 1920 in Greensboro, North Carolina, the daughter of the late James and Marybelle (Paris) York. She married Maurice H. Paterik on May 29, 1946. She is survived by her children: David (Gail) of Detroit, MI; Rev. Roy (Rev. Marie) of Warsaw, IL; James (Anne) of South Holland; Thomas (Luanne) of Kansas City, MO; Carl (Joyce) of Mesa, AZ; Jean and Mary of Highland; Judith (Rick) Aardsma of Crown Point, IN and Richard (Becky) of Dallas, TX and daughter-in-law, Karen Tackett of Traverse City, MI. She was the loving grandmother of sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, James York of Richmond, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, son John, infant granddaughter Kristin and brother Bill York.
